What would you do if a vampire got into your taxicab and asked for a ride? But not just a ride across town, a ride for a specific purpose. For one New York cab driver who works the overnight shift, that just happened.

Over the course of one unforgettable night, a vampire on the verge of starvation and desperate to feed will require the assistance of a taxicab driver to act as his chauffeur who will take him around the city that never sleeps in effort to find that in which he requires, healthy human blood. The problem is, a recent pandemic has left the population with tainted blood that the creatures of the night simply can't feed from.

Holding a conversation about the myths and legends of the vampire world, the cabbie will transport his fare from Manhattan, to Central Park, Chinatown, and ultimately to Hell's Kitchen in their search. Along the way and in their rearview mirror they'll leave several unfortunate victims until they locate the one they're searching for.

Confessions of a Vampire from the Back Seat of a New York Taxicab is an edgy and dark-humored horror story. A campy, gory, and erotic thrill ride that will keep you turning the pages from award winning New England Author, David Wilson.

Warning: This book contains graphic language, scenes of gore, and explicit sexual references

David Wilson's twisted and dark humor shines in this story about a vampire and a taxi cab driver.

The vampire in question is starving, literally dying as fresh healthy blood has become almost unattainable due to COVID and other diseases which makes the blood poisonous to the vampire community.

The cabbie is more than willing to drive the vampire around New York city as he seeks at least one person he can feed from who is mostly disease free.

But things will turn hilariously awry at every turn. From a Chinese food vendor who was waiting for the vampire, to a murderous mistake at a zoo, to a group of sorority girls who aren't taking any shit, the vamp and the cab driver find themselves with just a couple hours before sunrise to finish their task.

I loved the comedic tone of this book. It was a nice touch with all the gruesome horrific bloodletting you'll read about. The interaction between these two characters was great and there's even a sorta friendship near the end.

This is a bloody vampire story in a modern setting that will gross you out and make you laugh at the same time. I highly recommend it.

Finished "Confessions of a Vampire From the Back Seat of a New York Taxicab", by David Wilson, last night. To be honest, the first few chapters had me wondering if it was my cup of tea, this humor-filled story of a vampire who hires a cabbie to drive him around NYC in search of a human with healthy blood. In this day of Covid, and other diseases, it's hard out here for a Vamp. Contaminated blood is a death warrant for the undead.

But I stuck with it, and I'm glad I did. The adventures these two go through, and the dialogue throughout, will have you laughing while on the edge of your seat.

Don't get me wrong, there is blood, gore, and graphic descriptions, but Mr. Wilson handles it all deftly, and in a very entertaining manner. Well done!

Confessions of a Vampire From the Back Seat of a New York Taxicab written by David Wilson was a unique fun twist on COVID, vampires, and tainted blood. You think it was hard being a night-stalker in the good old days try being one in this COVID laced modern world. Trust me, this is one nightmarish fun tale that will leave you hungry for more.

Confessions Of A Vampire From The Backseat Of A New York Taxicab by David Wilson.

When Elias gets into the New York taxi cab it is because he is hungry but he doesn’t want takeout. He is a vampire who cab driver Mr. Winger recognizes immediately and when Elias agrees that, “Yes, he is a vampire,” naturally the native New Yorker has questions. While they drive around looking for edible blood so to speak, Elias who is a tad bit narcissistic and has a humongous ego, answers them.

Unfortunately they are not driving to the local blood bank because thanks to COVID, most blood is tainted so they drive around throughout the night looking for fresh pure blood.

This book is not only original it is hilarious, anyone who loves body horror and smart dialogue will definitely love this book. Although I could’ve done without that whole sex scene with gonorrhea. I get why the author put it in but not a big fan of detail sex, but I do love horror though. I also know that in a lot of cases sex and horror go hand-in-hand but as far as this book goes they do talk a lot about it but it’s all apropos to the story.

I was shocked with the OMG, WTF ending but it just made the book that much better. My question is does that mean they’re going to have a second book?

Imagine you are a taxi cab driver and your last passenger of the night is a vampire who is in desperate need of healthy blood or he’s gonna die. That is this book and it works really well. As the cab driver rides around New York helping Elias look for clean blood, we learn about his life. Yes, there’s blood and cussing but also humor. This was an all around great book.

Confessions Of A Vampire From The Backseat Of A New York Taxicab by David Wilson

“Hey! What about bats?” “They taste terrible. I don’t recommend them.”

That is what I look forward to with every David Wilson book I pick up and hold in my hands. And he has never let me down! His endless sense of humor and quick wit keep me as glued to my seat as much as his ominous, suspenseful world building and truly hair rising, heart pumping, terror inducing character situations keep my fingers turning the pages long into the night.

Elias is a vampire of indeterminate age. The reader knows he is old. Very, very old. But did he walk the streets with Methuselah? Probably not, but it’s safe to say that he saw the same production of Our American Cousin that Abraham Lincoln went to on April 14, 1865 when life was easier and pretty much carefree for a vampire and blood was so much sweeter, and cleaner.

Fast forward two centuries and life is very much changed for vampires. They have become an endangered species due to humanities various diseases and contagions. The worst and most deadliest of these being the coronavirus. One sip of blood from a person who is or has been infected with Covid will kill a vampire. Life has become very challenging. Trying to find a clean somewhat healthy source of food is all but impossible, but they are out there, Elias can smell them.

As Elias grows weaker and desperate with hunger he enlists the help of a nosy yet helpful New York City cab driver on his endeavor to procure sustenance before it’s too late. Throughout the course of this one night the two encounter many obstacles on their journey that lead them into strange situations that go from dangerous, to the macabre, to hilarious and downright ridiculous. Perhaps even forging an odd friendship between them.

4 for a great read with original thought!

I take one away because personally I could do without the eroticism which I found was laid on a bit too thick for my taste, but I get it, vampires are sexual predators. Regardless David Wilson you’re still one of my favorite authors and I will always recommend your books and always be your constant reader!

To start, I normally hate vampire novels, but the premise of this one was just too good to pass up.
I’m so glad I gave this one a shot. It was freakin' awesome. It was so unique compared to other vampire stories we are all used to.

I’m not quite sure I would’ve gone with confessions so much as adventures, though it was a mix of both.

This had absolutely laugh out loud moments. It was a quick and exciting read. There was no time to catch your breath between each chapter, it was full throttle the whole time.

I really don't want to say much about the actual story, but I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a fast paced fun and adventurous horror. And there is plenty of horror.

Thanks so much David for the review copy, I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Campy, gory and erotic is the perfect description of this short book. The book tells the tale of one of the last vampires on Earth as he negotiates the streets of NYC in a taxicab looking for a "clean" meal. You see, vampires are being killed off by Covid and it's becoming increasingly hard to find anyone who hasn't been tainted. Add in all of the other diseases that humans contract and you would be hard pressed to not get exposed to something!

The story is pretty wild, with the cab driver delving into the mythology of vampires as the night progresses. Each time that the vamp, Elias, finds a human to feed upon, something happens and there is a gory bloodbath! The reader is introduced to an elderly vampire hunter, a few prostitutes (and an erotic scene ensues), a budding porn star and more.

If you enjoy the vampire genre and need a fun, sometimes laugh out loud tale, you will enjoy this book. Just don't take it too seriously (since the author definitely wouldn't like that!).

When I saw the cover and the name of this book, I knew I had to read it. The first reason was because I’m a New Yorker, and the second reason was because my dad was a taxi driver before I was born. This book had me cracking up the whole way through. The relationship between the cabbie and his passenger was priceless. This is my first kind of horror comedy and I can’t wait to read more books from this author. I highly recommend reading this book.
