Fantastic! I really enjoyed this, I liked the new spin on the Devil and his servants, and the concept of the plot kept the story moving nicely. I couldn't help but feel a little satisfied that the Devil got his eighth soul, and the description of it felt satisfying too, very cool! I think this'll be a big hit!

This is the third book David Wilson has written where the devil himself is the main character. It's not a series though and each one can be read as a standalone. Combining extreme horror with a fantastically dark sense of humor, his books will make you wince in some places and provide laughter in others. It's a great combo that makes these books fun to read.

In this one, the devil realizes there are only eight saint worthy souls left on the earth. He needs these souls for hell to be at it's peak performance. He needs to find at least one and make a deal in exchange for their soul.
​
This will lead to some very brutal, bloody, and horrifying scenarios as he runs into issues trying to recruit these saints. Along the way, he'll amuse himself with torture, depravity, and violent deaths. And some twisted, but often hilarious, interactions.
​
Along with a demonic leprechaun, a creature with a playing card for a body, and a hookah smoking insect like entity, the devil tracks down these humans with unexpected results.
​
It's easy to get into this world and suspend your disbelief. The author keeps the narrative fast paced while providing insights into certain things that you probably didn't know. I loved those little tidbits and they provided an extra layer to the book.

Extremely violent and bloody but with an underlying sense of humor, I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC of this book from the author. This review is voluntary and is my own personal opinion.

David Wilson is the master of the devil!! When I first started reading this book, I thought the story was going in a certain direction and it totally flipped me upside down and went a bunch of different ways!

This devil has his work cut out for him! He wants to retrieve the last eight remaining pure souls on earth. Getting the soul of a saint is worth so much more than a sinners’ and he wants to piss off the big one in the sky whenever possible!!
​
With the assistance of his 3 crazy and very interesting “helpers” he goes on a mission to locate some of these pure souls!

Things are never what they seem though!!
​
The devil is truly a force to be reckoned with! This story is intense, humorous, gory and excitingly entertaining!! It’s very well written and I enjoy how this author can tell a very descriptive story!
​
Last Stop, Ground Floor and The Devil’s Final Offer are the first 2 books, that we are met with the lovely devil! This is the 3rd book pertaining to this devilish Devil!! They are all stand alone books, but tie nicely together!

The Devil is having a bad day. With the majority of souls ending up in Hell, things have gotten a little backed up. The Devil has to drop everything to go try and find someone who is destined for sainthood. But he runs into some bumps in the road. First off I love the writing style and the nod towards Alice in Wonderland. This was a joy to read and it was hard to put down. When the Devil finally finds his person destined for sainthood, the story did feel a little rushed. But other than that it was an amazing read and such a unique perspective on the Devil. Please read this trilogy!

First, I’d like to thank author David Wilson for providing me with an ARC of The Eighth Saint in exchange for my honest review. I’m in constant adoration of Wilson’s dark humor, perilous hellscapes, and his eclectic, brazen take on the Devil.
”But I want the clean souls! I want the ones that shouldn’t be here! The ones that should, yet simply can’t resist my offer!”
Well, Lucifer seems to be fairly frustrated these days.
The Devil is on a mission to find a pure soul, a martyr— to trick, to deceive, and to give his famous final offer.
The souls damned to Hell for their unrighteous and indecent lives aren’t enough. The list of people to arrive at the fiery gates are in the millions— same old, same old. Beelzebub is bored. He wants someone worth a thousand decrepit and unworthy souls.
He wants a saint.
But— there are only eight.
That’s right. Only eight human beings are worthy of Heaven.
Well, what does Lucifer decide to do? He takes his grand limousine to Earth, where he seeks out the righteous and notable.
Yet, this challenge is not easy— even for someone as sly, charming, and deceptive as the Devil. On his journey, there’s a lot that goes wrong.
And it’s absolutely hilarious!
Lucifer slips up, wreaks havoc on the earthlings, and even comedically hinders his own plans. Human beings are messy, but Satan has his moments, too.
I am absolutely obsessed with The Eighth Saint. While I love a good hellscape, I think I enjoy Wilson’s depiction of the Devil even more. He’s witty, charming, sassy, bold, and might I say— even a little silly. Our Prince of Darkness seems to be a bit more human-like in this novel, which gave me so many good chuckles.
I reveled in the fact that this story really hones in on Lucifer and his original, hilarious personality.
I’m rating this book ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ for its ability to lock me right into its story. It’s also the only time I’ll admit to loving the Devil. He’s fabulously written. I was sucked into the journey I took alongside Lucifer, as he searched high and low for the perfect soul. The book is well-rounded with a great resolve. There’s witty banter, plenty of comedy, and even some great gory scenes. What more can you ask for? After loving Last Stop, Ground Floor and The Devil’s Final Offer— The Eighth Saint was an excellent way to tie up this very loosely related trilogy. I’m consistently excited to see what Wilson delivers to us next.

I love reading David Wilson's "Devil" books! Very few authors can combine dark horror with the comedic touch of a Master, but Wilson comes through every time! Although The Dark One is the star of these books, you don't have to read the previous one to enjoy the next one. With The Eighth Saint, I think Wilson has really hit his sweet spot in making the reader cower, cringe and crack up. I mean, how can you not be drawn to a book that starts off with the heading "The Devil is Having a Bad Day"?

Turns out, Ol' Beelzebub is bored. There are no challenges anymore. No really good people out there for him to tempt into a deal and, in the process, steal their soul. Only the same crappy souls, on line to get into the place they were always already destined to go to. The Devil wants more of a challenge, so he goes out into the world and begins his quest for the good ones, the people who otherwise would have a ticket straight to Heaven, unless Satan can convince them to take his offer of a longer life, with riches in abundance, in exchange for their souls.

Along the way, just for laughs, he cause mayhem and destruction in hilarious fashion.
​
Personally, The Eighth Saint is Wilson's best book to date and I thought he'd have trouble besting his Confessions of a Vampire in the Backseat of a New York Taxicab, which I absolutely loved.
​
If you like your horror dipped in a little of the funny, then this book, and all of Wilson's Devil books are for you. Don't pass this one up.

The devil is on the hunt for a pure soul to keep hell running smooth. After discovering there are only 8 left out of everyone on earth. He goes on a hunt to make a deal to get one down to hell.

This is the 1st book by David Wilson and I'll definitely be checking out more. This was hilarious, gory, and an overall fantastic story. I laughed out loud so many times.
